The Bahamas November 2009

Cannon Family Cruisin'

The Cannon Family are my second family..if you didn't already know. So almost every year they go on one of these cruises. Well we got a screamin' deal in March that we couldn't pass up. (that was before I knew about all my other adventures)

Seeing pictures of the water in the Bahamas can't compare to seeing it in person. The white beaches, the bluest water you will ever see. It was honestly the most beautiful water I have experienced.

My favorite part of the trip was when we were in Puerto Rico, everyone had decided to go back to the boat. Karla, Drew and I wanted to go shopping...well it began to rain and we had to run all the way back, soaking wet! Such a great memory.

It was a great time to just catch up with the people who have been in my life for a long time and the people I love the most!! We ate and ate, we sang, we danced...Chelsea and Karla danced the days and nights away and we laughed!

I love you miss Jackie Cannon...you truly are my Best Friend!

Greece October 2009

Our Greek Sailing Adventure.

I won this trip, for the amount that I sold throughout the year from GAP Adventures. They chose the top from each area, around the world and we sailed through the Cyclades:

  • Santorini
  • Naxos
  • Anti-Paros
  • Paros
  • Syros
  • Mykonos
  • Athens

This trip was seriously a dream! If there was one word that I could describe Greece the word would be BLUE. The color blue was everywhere to be seen. The Greeks are friendly, if you approach them, hehehe.

I met amazing people from all over the world...and I loved each and everyone. We sailed, swam, ate, shopped, rode scooters and danced. This trip changed my life and helped me figure out 'some' of my future.

Mexico...LOTS

Dear Rowland Cunningham,

Oh how you made my life complete these last few years...Mexico where the livin' is easy. On a weekend here or there, we would make our way down to Santo Thomas, lay on the beach, swim and kayak with the dolphins, slide down a slip-n-slide, sing to Jeff playing the guitar, play with octopus, crabs and jellies...the stars were one of my favorite parts of these glorious nights.

Sunsets are absolutely amazing.

Oh you know...just playin' on the beach.

Europe March 2009

So this is where it gets ridiculous...

On my trip in Ecuador, I get an email from my boss saying they are sending me to Europe on a FAM trip...3 days after my return from Ecuador. How could I turn something like that down ;) hehehe. The trip was about learning our product, that we sell for our company. It was a short and very fast trip. To a lot of Countries: England, France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.

I learned from this trip a few things:

  • Traveling in BIG groups is hard (pleasing everyone)
  • Traveling with friends is so great
  • Seeing the world one country a day...is exhausting!
It was great to return to England (I was there in 2003) and we had great weather, so it was even better. Paris was way more spectacular than I ever imagined. So much to do and see, I can't wait to go back.

After being in 7 Countries in less than a month, I have began to pick up different dialects/accents from around the world. Listen when I speak and see if you can pick them out. But seriously...HAHAHAHA

Ecuador February 2009

I have wanted to visit South America for a long time. I love the Latin culture and was trying to find any excuse to get there. I met Jonathan and Jason in December and they told me about their trip to Ecuador in February...and invited me along. Now first off, I don't speak Spanish. I do follow it well, but speaking is a whole other story. Jonathan and Jason both served their missions here, so I figured I was safe.

The trip began with an amazing woman named Digna. She welcomed us into her home, food, beds and showers. Day one she invited some investigators of the church over for dinner and then we were suppose to teach a lesson. Little did I know that would also be participating. I was asked to sing a solo for them. Now the language barrier was bad enough, but singing...AHHHH! And that is how the adventures began. Ecuador was a spot that I would have never believed I would care to go back. But everything about this country welcomes a humble traveler. Every person we met was financially poor, but they fed and helped us in every way they could. If there is one thing I can say about Ecuadorians, they do not lack Spirit. I loved them.

My journal: 'Day 11 As I sit back and think about these people, I am amazed. They have nothing. Yet they have everything because they have the Gospel and are willing to give everything because of the Gospel. What an incredible testimony'.

We did a lot of traveling on this trip. We were on buses, plans, cars, walking, running and hiking. We walked on roads that have dogs that are scarier than guns! We cut down and swung from the vines of banana trees in the jungle. I was rescued by a life guard in the ocean..haha! We went to the Center of the Earth. We sang, we talked, we shopped we laughed, we ate and I fell in love with a people so different from my own.

Places visited: Quito, Centre del Mundo, Guayaquil, Monte Cristi, Manta, a 'Red Zone' along the coast, Quebedo, Montenita, Las Salinas, Viche, Quinnende, Otovalo...(I am sure that some of these are spelled wrong and we visited a few more spots, unfortunately I didn't write everything down)

This door I saw in a travel magazine..and loved it. It was my quest to find it in Quito. Goal accomplished!

Waiting for one of our many buses to pick us up..and oh man was it ever hot and humid.

Sugar Cane..this was one of the many things given for us to eat at members homes. Along with Mango, bananas, passion fruit, avocado, papaya (YUCK), etc. These people we're amazing!

Driving through the jungle I had to stop and get this absolutely amazing picture.
